The Path to Solar on Your Land

Bodin Solar prioritizes landowner education and satisfaction. We simplify a complex process and build confidence in all your decisions.

Initial Assessment

Contact us for a commitment-free assessment of your land.  We begin with a detailed remote screening, after which we hope to visit and conduct a live site review together.

Lease signing

Following a successful review process Bodin Solar will offer a lease for your consideration. Once the lease is signed, you will begin receiving development payments while Bodin Solar coordinates the next steps.

Construction

After Bodin Solar manages the early development stages, a solar development company will assume control of the project and construct the solar array.  You will receive construction lease payments during this phase.

Energy Production

Once construction is complete the solar array will begin producing electricity and you will start earning higher lease payments for 25-35 years.  Regular maintenance and repairs will be handled by a qualified third party paid by the solar array owner.

Decommission

At the end of the solar array’s life a qualified third party will remove all equipment and return your land in excellent condition. This third party will be paid by the solar array owner, leaving absolutely no expenses for you. At the end of the lease term you can return to using your land however you like.

Could solar work on your land?

If your land meets most of the following conditions, it should be suitable to host a solar farm.

  • 7+ acres of contiguous land
  • Easy access to public streets

  • Minimal wetlands, floodplains, or densely wooded areas
  • Relatively flat topography
  • Receives direct sunlight from 10am-3pm when the sun is out
  • Close to an existing electrical line
